About Steele

Steele grew up in Overland Park, Kansas, where he developed a deep appreciation for Midwestern values and community. He earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Kansas, then went on to pursue his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Colorado.

After completing his doctorate, Steele returned to Kansas and put down roots in Shawnee, where he now lives with his wife and their two young sons. He runs a local small business focused on international logistics and manufacturing, and is passionate about creating opportunities and supporting the local economy.

As a parent, business owner, and neighbor, Steele understands the importance of smart growth, safe neighborhoods, and transparent leadership. He's running for Shawnee City Council to make sure every voice is heard — and to help shape a future that works for all families.
